What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapy is the healthcare profession that focuses on helping people participate fully in the activities that shape their daily lives.
Occupations are simply the things that fill your time and give life structure and meaning. For example, getting up and dressed, preparing meals, working, learning, playing, driving, resting, connecting with others, and everything in between.
About Occupational Therapists
Occupational therapists are regulated health professionals registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. We focus on what matters to you, what might be getting in the way, and how to thoughtfully bridge that gap. Using evidence-informed, practical strategies, we support meaningful progress that builds confidence and leads to lasting success.
There are many reasons why daily life can be difficult. Occupational therapists are trained to look at the whole picture—considering the individual, their environment, and the demands of the task itself. This broader lens allows us to identify barriers, promote strengths, and create solutions that are both realistic and sustainable.
At Windward, our occupational therapists ground their approach in partnership, respect, and a shared commitment to meaningful outcomes.
